Scaled down from a vintage wine bottle tote, my Bottle Tote is sized to easily hold 2-3 standard *water* bottles or other goodies. The cowhide body is formed with 3/4" straps laced through a series of holes that extends to form the shoulder strap, which can be adjusted by a buckle for wearing on one shoulder, or slung across the body. A horizontal strap keeps the top flap in place to cover contents.
The bag measures 7" wide, 3" deep, and 9" high (to top of front). The supple, but tough, cowhides can accommodate many sizes & shapes of objects. And don't worry, the fit and lacing is tight and there are no gaps for any contents to fall out of the bag.
Creature of the Wood is a "Bottle Tote" with a hand silk screened image from a medieval woodblock print of a seated faun, which during its construction I was inspired to name after a wonderful Tricky Pixie song, and it is the foundation of my "Mythcreants" series.
Creature of the Wood #1 is a soft light brown cowhide with black cowhide strap with the image printed in black on the front and back. The strap adjusts with an antique brass buckle.
The Odonata is named after the three dragonflies on the inserted leather "medallion" that is hand embossed with a Japanese crest, or mon, design.
The medallion is just shy of 3" in diameter, and is affixed with a double row of stitching into the main body leather.
Odonata-One: Pale pink smooth grain cowhide body, grass green smooth grain cowhide straps, and a dark green metallic leather hand embossed medallion.
A decorative buckle, square w/ curved details, in old silver provides the adjustments for the strap length.
Please note: the color varies a bit in the photos due to the natural light available on the days the photos were taken.
This bottle tote is made from a cowhide with a very unusual finish that looks like red and black crackle paint, and is very smooth and firm. The underside of the cowhide is its natural color and is very soft and suede-like. The black strap is a supple, but firm, smooth grain cowhide, and a decorative old silver buckle provides the adjustment for the strap length.
